Around two years after my wife and I moved into our house, I started looking at photos of the yard over the time we’ve been here, and how much had changed. We’ve lost trees, planted trees, built up garden beds, added flowers, pulled a million miles of morning glory vines and Bermuda grass, and ultimately made it into a space we love.

So why not document it more closely?

Our lot overall is about 0.9 acres, with a decent sized front yard that just happens to be almost entirely shaded by several mature trees.

Big shade trees are nothing to complain about, but they limit most of our gardening work to the backyard, which by itself is roughly half an acre (hence the site name).

Posts will range from daily harvest photos to long-term projects. Enjoy the process!
